Bishops Fought The Law (And The Law Didn’t Win!)

Bishop Auckland FC took on Tow Law on Wednesday, April 14th.

The first real chance coming in the 18th minute when Emson raced to the line before crossing to Gredziak who stooped to head the ball over the bar.

After some scares, Bishop began to come back into the game. A Blackett corner on 38 minutes was cleared to Emson 25 yards from goal and he volleyed just wide, although the Law ‘keeper may well have had it covered.

Half Time: Tow Law 0 – Bishop Auckland 0 Bishop finally opened the scoring on 52 minutes. A free kick was awarded when Adam Strong was shoved to the ground 35 yards from goal. The set-piece was
headed to the far post by Salvin and Arjun Purewal’s header was parried to Emson who forced the ball home from six yards.

Substitute Joe Grant should have doubled the lead on 76 minutes but, one on one with the ‘keeper, he miss-hit his shot yards wide.

Bishops almost scored again on 87 minutes when Emson’s low cross bobbled around in the area but the ball was eventually cleared.

In the end it was another win for Bishops and, with other results going in their favour, the club reached 10th spot, their highest position of the season so far.

Full Time Score: Tow Law Town 0 – Bishop Auckland 1.
