Thousands Flock To Festival

More than 29,000 people attended this year’s food festival at Bishop Auckland Castle, making it the most successful to date.

Bishop Auckland Food Festival in the Durham Dales, which took place on Saturday, April 17th, was presented by Bishop Auckland Town Centre Forum in partnership with Durham County Council and sponsored by Bishop Auckland Town Council.

Sue Snowdon, of the Town Centre Forum, said, “We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the public’s positive response.

“The streets of Bishop Auckland were buzzing and awash with visitors right from the offing, setting the standard for the rest of the day.

“The lovely ambience was created by the vast selection of people who graced the wonderful occasion with their presence – we had more families enjoying the festival than ever before.”
