Staff at the town’s leisure centre are celebrating their success in being recognised nationally for delivering a high quality sport and leisure service.
Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex has improved on its last Quest accreditation score by an impressive 7 per cent, taking it into the highly commended category.
All of Durham County Council‘s leisure centres are part of the Quest accreditation scheme, which is an ongoing programme designed to help managers and staff provide the best possible sports and leisure
services locally.
Natalie Curgenven, Leisure Centre Manager, said, “Credit must be given to all staff at the centre and especially those on the Quest working group who have done a great job.
“Together we have worked really hard to improve and develop our service so it provides exactly what customers want locally.”
Councillor Bob Young, Cabinet Member for Strategic Environment and Leisure at Durham County Council, said, “Quest is really valuable. Not only is it a sign of quality and achievement but customers see an ongoing improvement to the variety and standard of services on offer.
“At the same time, staff have the opportunity to develop their skills, making Quest accredited centres happier places to work and better places to visit.”
