A chance to chat with Auckland Castle Trust

Members of the Bishop Auckland community are being invited to pose their questions about the ongoing revitalisation of the town directly to the team at Auckland Castle Trust.

The charity, which is investing £70m into transforming Auckland Castle into an arts, faith and heritage destination of international significance, will be hosting four Community Drop-in sessions at the Town Hall between Friday 24th and Tuesday 27th March.

There, visitors will be able to call in at their convenience to find out more about the Trust, its future plans and the wider impact for the people of Bishop Auckland.

This includes information about the construction work currently underway in partnership with local contractors, the opportunities for employment and skills development and the wide range of ways available to engage with local heritage.

Members of Auckland Castle Trust’s growing staff base will also be on hand to answer any additional questions and chat directly with everyone who attends.

Liz Fisher, Engagement Director at Auckland Castle Trust, said: “This is an opportunity for people to find out more about Auckland Castle Trust directly from those involved.

“More importantly it’s a chance for members of the community to raise any questions and speak more specifically about the elements of the revitalisation porgramme that matter most to them.”

The sessions will run in the library at Bishop Auckland Town Hall during the following times: Noon-5pm on Friday, 24th March; 10am-12.30pm on Saturday, 25th March; 2pm-6pm on Monday, March 26th and 10am-3pm on Tuesday, 28th March.

This is the first in a series of similar events being planned by the Trust, including a number of pop ups in supermarkets, community centres and other venues around the town throughout the year.

Anyone who is unable to attend any of the sessions but would still like to raise a query with Auckland Castle Trust is being asked to email questions@aucklandcastle.org where they will receive a timely response.
