Free course caters for training needs

A County Durham landlord’s training programme will give potential chefs food for thought.

Dale & Valley Homes’ Level 2 Food Safety course on Thursday, 16th March between 9am and 4.30pm will show attendees the essentials of working hygienically in the kitchen.

The free course, which will be held at Mickle Grove Community Training Hub in Leeholme, is ideal for anyone starting out in the industry or wanting a change in career.

Kimberley Batey, Dale & Valley Homes’ Community Training Project Coordinator, said: “This course teaches people about controlling food risks, personal handling, storage and cooking.

“There is also an accredited certificate for successfully completing the course, so could be a great addition to someone’s CV.”

To reserve a place on the programme, which are allocated on a first come first served basis, email k.batey@daleandvalleyhomes.co.uk or call 01388 770 974.

Lunch will provided as well as help to attend, including free transport and childcare.

Dale & Valley Homes’ training programme at Mickle Grove has been funded by NE Procurement, 3 Towns AAP and local councillors.
