St Mary’s U17s into cup final

It was a great weekend for St Mary’s U17 squad with a fantastic 5-3 win the their semi-final of the League Cup playing a team two divisions above them.

Goals from Bailey Prudhoe (2), Ethan Dixon (2) and Brandon Thorburn put them through to the final after being 2-1 down.

The U18s also had an excellent 7-1 league win away at Coxhoe with goals from Regan Blakey-Johnson (2), Luke Bailey, Alex Goundry, Charlie Wigley, Jack Armstrong and Declan Lindsay.

The U9 Aces played Mount Pleasant in a hard game with Dylan Scott starring.

The side fared better in the development game with Oakley Rhodes, Kyle King and Jack Redhead starring.

The U10 Aces had a great win over Stockton Town with Adam Yates scoring twice and Ethan Taite the other.

The U11 Aces had a great 6-2 win over Ferryhill with goals from Ethan Allison (3), Fin McGuire, Ethan Moore and Rob Worthy.

The U11 Kings also had a great 4-2 win over Richmond with goals from Kieran Pattison (3) and Adam Wilson.

The U13 Aces lost for the first time in eight weeks against a very strong Eaglescliffe team.

The U13 Kings lost out 2-1 away at Richmond with Sonny Richardson scoring and Luke Simpson starring.

The U14 had a great 4-3 win over Mount Pleasant with goals from Regan Nixon, Luke Atkinson, Joel Manuel and Joe Roff.

The club is hoping to take delivery of a defibrillator within the coming days.

A spokesperson said: “With so many players, parents and grandparents attending matches, the club thinks it’s a very important piece of first aid equipment to have and could save a life if needed.

“This piece of equipment is very easy to use and gets the heart going again if it has stopped.”
