Mayor serves funds to table tennis club

Bishop Auckland Town Mayor, Cllr Adam Zair visited Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club recently to present them with a cheque for £500 from the town’s Community Fund Grants Programme.

Bishop Auckland Town Council’s Community Fund budgets an amount each year which is to be used to support organisations working for the benefit of the people of Bishop Auckland.

“The grant from the Town Council has allowed us to replace one of the club’s table tennis tables,” said club chairman, Matt Porter. “The tables get a lot of use with us being open for 30 hours each week.”

The club runs sessions every night of the week for all ages and abilities and new players are always welcome.

If you fancy learning or getting back into the sport, check out the club’s webpage www.bishopaucklandttc.co.uk or call Matt on 07411 018856.
