Two Blues rock West in derby

Bishop Auckland FC rocked title favourites and league leaders West Auckland with a sensational 4-3 win at Heritage Park in the midweek Auckland derby on Wednesday 6th September.

First half goals from Alex Francis, who converted Andy Johnson’s saved penalty and a second from Johnson gave the Two Blues a 2-0 lead which was pegged back by Anth Bell just before the break.

But a second penalty on 63 minutes saw Dan Parker receive his marching orders before being converted by Priestley Griffiths.

Ten man West staged a late comeback, levelling the game through Nathan Fisher and Daz Richardson, but a Francis goal at the death saw Bishop snatch the win in a pulsating game viewed by a 750 crowd.
