Performance Club status for BATTC

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club has been recognised by Table Tennis England as one of its first Performance Clubs.

They will now work with national performance staff to ensure promising young players are given the necessary skills to reach their full potential.

Working mostly with players under 14, clubs will ensure they develop athletic, technical and mental skills by delivering the necessary quality and quantity of training, as well as building links with local primary schools to identify talented youngsters.

Table Tennis England’s Head of Talent & Performance, Simon Mills, said: “We are excited to be working with some new clubs in order to broaden the reach of our pathway and provide greater access to the Table Tennis England performance philosophies and trademarks.”

Matt Porter, Club Chairman said: “We are delighted to be a part of the new programme and that the hard work the players and coaching team put in has been recognised by Table Tennis England.”
