Bishop Auckland St. Mary’s Juniors Football Club are set to enjoy an excellent evening of entertainment at their upcoming Sportman’s Dinner. They have secured former Welsh international John Hartson, and John Stiles (son of World Cup winner Nobby) to speak at their sportsman’s night at the end of January.

The Two Blues don’t have a game this Saturday 7th January but there is still football at Heritage Park, as Bishop Auckland Schools FA take on Newcastle SFA in a the ESFA Under 15’s Inter Association Trophy. The kick off is 12noon.

The Bishop Auckland Cricket Club’s 1st team are not finding life in the Darlington Building Society N.Y.S.D. Premier League to their liking this year, as they are currently bottom of the table with only 34 points after two draws and four defeats.

Two Bishop Barrington Sports with Mathematics School pupils have just been re-selected to play for Durham Cricket Club’s under 12 team.

After the Zurbarans recently secured their future here in Bishop Auckland, they have now been honoured further by having a rugby team named after them.

Thirteen year-old Anthony Stout, a pupil at Bishop Barrington School in Bishop Auckland, is enjoying a promising football career on the one hand and boxing successes on the other.

Bishop Auckland brother and sister Hayley and Matthew Bradley were on top form at the National Schools Biathlon finals at at Crystal Palace in London on the 27th of March.

Bishop’s 1st XV were away to high flying Guisborough in their most recent match, a team who are 2nd in the League.

Bishop Rugby Team were away to top-of-the-table Acklam after a long layoff due to the weather and the Christmas break.
